What is NRF81?

  • The NRF81 Tankside Monitor (sometimes called Tankside Monitor NRF81 or simply “NRF81”) is a field device / gateway used in tank gauging systems, especially for bulk storage tanks (e.g. in terminals, refineries, tank farms).
  • Its role is to integrate, monitor, and relay data from various sensors on a tank (level, temperature, pressure, etc.) to higher-level inventory or control systems.
  • It is commonly used in custody transfer or inventory control applications (i.e. measuring and accounting for the volume/mass of fluid in the tank).
