Yokogawa’s digitalYEWFLO Classic Vortex Flow Meter includes spectral signal processing (SSP) to provide enhanced vibration immunity and optimum, stable flow measurements. Even under fluctuating flow rate conditions, SSP outputs only the appropriate vortex frequencies with no manual adjustments needed.

Feature

Advanced Self-diagnostics

The digitalYEWFLO series vortex flow meter provides diagnostic messages on high vibration environments, excessive flow fluctuations, and clogging or plugging in the area around the shedder bar. Analysis of the process allows true condition-based maintenance.

Replaceable Shedder Bar

If obstructions are present, Yokogawa’s unique design of the shedder bar allows the operator to replace it without removing the meter, minimizing downtime. 

Remote Electronics Housing

Remote electronics allows you to locate the indicator away from the process measurement point and to a more convenient visible area.

The picture to the left shows a Stainless Steel housing. The SS housing is an available option on all Yokogawa digitalYEWFLO Vortex Flow Meters.

Noise Reduction

Noise caused by strong piping vibration may affect the accuracy of vortex frequency detection. The two piezoelectric elements in the digitalYEWFLO are installed in a configuration that is polarized, so they are not affected by vibration in the flow or vertical directions. The noise of vortex (lift)-direction vibration is reduced by adjusting the outputs of the piezoelectric elements. Combining these features with the Spectral Signal Processing (SSP) function provides optimum and stable measurement.


Steam Flow Measurement

Steam has often been described as the 'lifeblood' of the industry. Vortex meters are known to be superior devices for steam flow measurement due to their inherent linear measurement, large turndown, low pressure drop, and high accuracy.

The vortex flow meter is ideal for high temperature, superheated, and saturated steam applications since it eliminates the need for separate components and associated installation temperature. In addition, it provides quality, dependability and high pressure ratings along with a stable and reliable flow measurement.

Liquid Applications

Liquid applications in the oil refinery industry become challenging since the process liquid is a higher viscosity at lower process temperatures. As a result, clogging becomes an issue when a flow meter has moving parts.

digitalYEWFLO vortex meters have advanced self-diagnostics that alert the operator if clogging or plugging in the area around the shedder bar are present. Alerts are also triggered in high-vibration environments and those with excessive flow fluctuations in the area around the shedder bar. This enables automatic condition-based maintenance.

Reverse Osmosis

RO systems are designed for automatic operation and require routine preventative and corrective maintenance. Common problems include membrane fouling and the use of improper flow rates.

Vortex flow meters measure low-conductivity flow, are cost-efficient, and deliver accurate flow rates, making them perfect for reverse osmosis applications.

Yokogawa Vortex Flow Meter Installation Manual

1, Wafer Type

Vertical Installation- (1) Insert two collars on each two bolts of bottom side of the flowmeter. (2) Fit the flowmeter body to the collars. And tighten the four bolts and nuts uniformly. (3) Check for leakage from the flange connections.

Horizontal Installation- (1) Insert two stud bolts in the bolt holes on the flowmeter shoulder to align the instrument body with the inner diameter of the adjacent piping. (2) Tighten all bolts uniformly and check that there is no leakage between the instrument and the flanges.

2. Flange Type

Use the stud bolts and nuts supplied with the flowmeter of the user. The gaskets should be supplied by the user.

3. Remote Type Converter

The converter is mounted on a 2-inch (60.5mm outer dia.) stanchion or horizontal pipe. Do not mount the converter on a vertical pipe. It makes wiring and maintenance difficult.
